About Us

Materials for Optical and Laser Applications (MOLA) is a research group in the Department of Laser Science and Interaction at NILES, Cairo University. We consist of young scientists who specialize in physics, chemistry, Material science, optics, and lasers. MOLA aims at building a research team by exploiting the different backgrounds and experiences of our members to serve the understanding of material behavior, mainly from an optical point of view. MOLA studies different kinds of materials such as metals, organic/inorganic semiconductors, ceramics, etc in different architectures like solutions, powders, nanocrystals, bulk, thin films, etc. Currently, our work involves research lines toward the synthesis and characterization of ceramic-based solid-state materials and solution-processed metal halide perovskites.
